On Food and Cooking is basically a textbook or encyclopedia of ingredients and cooking techniques. There are no recipes and while it might be interesting to flip through once or twice, I can’t imagine why I would ever need or want this book. I don’t really care that someone reported eating beets around 300 BC or that eggs are 75% water.

The top of the screen has two meters showing you how much of today’s harvest goal you have achieved and how far along you are into the current day.

The cozy season is chock-full of eating candy and watching spooky movies, but we have a few fresh ideas you should tack onto your itinerary. Bacteria can multiply rapidly if left at room temperature or in the “Danger Zone” between 40°F and 140°F. Never leave perishable food out for more than 2 hours (or 1 hour if exposed to temperatures above 90°F). If the food is exposed to temperatures above 90°F, like a hot car or picnic, refrigerate it within 1 hour.

If you run out of moves you can shuffle the remaining tiles for a 1-minute time penalty. Katana Fruits is a fruit slicing game where you have to try to hit every piece of fruit on the game while missing the bombs. Miss three fruits or hit a single bomb and it is game over. Nom Nom Yum is a 25-stage sushi eating game where you cut strings and pop bubbles to help the sushi run into stars and then fall down to the hungry monster at the bottom of the stage. Horace vs Cheese is a 24-stage cheese roll rolling game where you help the hamster Horace collect as many cheese wedges as you can using a limited number of shots. Avoid the blue cheese or you lose a turn & do not run into any rotten green cheese.

This game is simple enough that second or third graders might like it, but older students may find this game repetitive. We Bare Bears Chocolate Artist is a cute customer serving game where you create shapes and patterns on the screen using your mouse or a finger to serve incoming customers. Twin the Bin is a recycling game where garbage moves along a conveyor belt at the top of the screen. On each level you control a chile moving left and right at the bottom of the screen with the goal of collecting only one type of waste while ignoring other categories.

Cover the food with a microwave-safe lid or microwave plastic wrap. Cut food into evenly sized pieces if possible or put larger or thicker items towards the outside edge of the dish. If you use a microwave, check that the food is cooked evenly throughout. The game has a limited display area for active buffs at the top right of the screen (about the width of 3½ buff icons).
